mynah tracks how visible a Shopify store is to AI shopping assistants. To do that it reads your products and records what assistants say about them. It does not touch your customers, your orders, or your storefront.

What we collect

Your products. Titles, descriptions, images, prices, variants, options and metafields, read through Shopify’s Admin API. We store a copy so we can audit fields and detect changes between days.

What assistants say. The questions we check on your behalf, and the full answer each assistant returned - including which stores ranked above you. You can see that raw answer yourself on any question’s page.

Your settings and account. Your store domain, plan, time zone, the email address you want alerts sent to, and an optional Slack webhook URL if you add one.

Who is signed in. Shopify tells us the name, email and locale of the staff account using the app, as part of the session it issues. We use it for nothing else and delete it the moment you uninstall.

The free audit tool. If you use the public audit at /public/audit without installing anything, we read only the public pages of the store you name - the same pages a shopper sees. Your IP address is used to rate limit that tool and is not stored against a profile.

What we don’t collect

Nothing about your shoppers. The app requests two permissions from Shopify - read and write access to products - and nothing else. We cannot see orders, customers, checkouts, or payment details, so there is no customer personal data in our systems to lose, hand over, or be asked to delete.

We also never inject anything into your storefront and never write theme code.

What we do with it

We run your questions against AI shopping assistants once a day, score where you appear, and email you when something changes. We audit your product fields and, if you ask us to, draft improved copy for them. Every drafted word is traced to something already in your own product content; when there is no source for a claim, the app says it needs your input rather than inventing one.

If you approve a change, we write it back to your products - and we save a snapshot of the previous values first, so you can roll it back.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train any model.

Who else sees it

These are the services we rely on to run mynah. Each one sees only what it needs.

How long we keep it

Uninstall and it’s gone within 48 hours. Your access token is deleted immediately; everything else - products, questions, results, history - is erased by an automatic sweep two days later. The delay exists for one reason: if you reinstall within it, your history is still there. Nothing is retained past that window.

While you are installed, the raw answer text from checks older than 90 days is trimmed to the parts the app displays. Your scores and history are unaffected.

Your rights

You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings, or by emailing us. If you are in the UK or EU, the GDPR rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection apply, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. Because we hold no data about your shoppers, a customer data request forwarded to us through Shopify will be answered truthfully: we have nothing about them.

Where your data lives

Our servers and database are in the United States. If you are outside the US, using mynah means your data is processed there.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you by email before the change takes effect.
